I just read this article. Please read it. A Denver magazine called 5280 (a favorite read in our home) did an article about a girl from Ethiopia who moved to Denver. It is the story of a girl, who escaped torture in her homeland and found refuge, or "Asylum" in Denver. I think maybe this article has helped direct me in my next step, I think it is the direction I have been seeking God for. It is that good. There is definitely more to come from me, a movement maybe? I'm not sure, just read the article. And see if God pricks your heart like he did mine.
I'd love to hear more about what direction it's pointing you towards. The funding for programs like RMSC is such a tragedy. My kids and I volunteered every week at the African Community Center of Denver for nearly a year but they lost funding for the program we were helping with. The ACC is still functioning, thankfully, but at diminished capacity.
